Travel Tips Visa Information Attendees from most countries will not need a Visa. It is important, however, to check with the Canadian Citizenship and Immigration Web site to determine if you need a Visa, Temporary Resident Visa or Letter of Invitation. If a Letter of Invitation is needed, please request one from Holly Whiteside. From the web site (for most Visiting Canada): To visit Canada, you must:
- Be in good health. - Satisfy an immigration officer that you have ties, such as a job, home and family, that will take you back to your country of origin. - Satisfy an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit, and - Have enough money for your stay. The amount of money you will need can vary with the circumstances of the visit, how long you will stay and whether you will stay in a hotel or with friends or relatives. For more information, ask the Canadian Visa office in your country or region.
- A medical examination, and - A letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada. Travel to and from Mont-Tremblant RD2010 busses Round trip transportation between the Pierre Trudeau Airport in Montreal and the meeting site (~1.5 hr driving time) will be provided as part of the meeting registration fee. Scheduled departure times for busses leaving the Airport on Tuesday, July 13, 2009 will be determined based on delegate travel plans; however, the last bus will probably leave the Airport no later than 3:00 PM (15:00 hrs). If you cannot arrive at the Pierre Trudeau Airport in Montreal in time to catch the last bus, it will be necessary to arrive a day earlier or provide your own transportation (e.g., taxi) to the meeting site. Please check back for additional updates. For the return to Montreal on Saturday, July 17, 2009, bus transportation will be provided to both the Airport and the headquarters hotel for the ICER Meeting. Car Rental The Fairmont Tremblant hotel in Mont-Tremblant is located approximately 127 km (~1.5 hr driving time) northwest of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Directions from the Pierre Trudeau Airport in Montreal and the Ottowa Airport can be found at www.fairmont.com/tremblant/MapAndDirections.htm. If you choose to drive to the meeting site, your parking at the hotel will be covered as part of your registration fee (in lieu of bus transportation).
